Safety & Crisis Resources
Last updated August 6, 2026
MoneyGPS is a money tool. It is not a crisis service. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, please use the resources below right now.
If you are in crisis
If you are thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 in the U.S. to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. It is free and open 24 hours a day.
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911.
If money is the emergency
If you cannot afford food, rent, or utilities, dial 211 to reach local assistance programs. It is free and confidential.
You can also speak with a nonprofit credit counselor through the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) at nfcc.org.
How Franklin handles a crisis
Franklin is an AI assistant, not a counselor and not a human. If you mention self-harm, Franklin points you to 988. If you mention losing food or housing, Franklin points you to 211 and nonprofit help.
In a crisis, Franklin gives no financial advice. It responds with care and shares these resources. Franklin cannot call for help on your behalf.
Franklin is not a companion and not a substitute for professional support. For real help, please reach a licensed professional or one of the services above.
