Help & How-To
Last updated August 6, 2026
Everything you need to get the most out of MoneyGPS, step by step.
Getting started
1. Create an account with your email and a password, then confirm your email.
2. Complete the quick onboarding: agree to the Terms, Privacy Policy, and Disclaimer, pick one or more goals, and enter a few numbers.
3. You'll land on your Home dashboard — your map, health score, and destination.
Adding your numbers
Open Finances (the Finances tab, or the “Add my numbers” button). Enter your monthly take-home income, monthly cash flow, total savings, and total debt.
Prefer not to type? Upload a bank or credit-card statement (PDF) and Franklin will read it and fill the numbers in for you to review before saving. Nothing is saved until you tap Save.
Understanding your Health Score
Your score (0–100) blends four areas: cash flow (30%), Living with zero (an emergency cushion) — how many months of expenses your savings could cover with zero income (30%), debt (20%), and credit (10%). A higher score means more room and resilience.
It's a snapshot, not a grade on you — it moves as your numbers move. Add or update your numbers any time to recalculate.
Reading the map & routes
The map shows where you are (your position) and where you're headed (your goal). Until you add your numbers, the map stays empty.
On the Routes screen you'll see paths color-coded like traffic: green is clearer, yellow is moderate, red means slow down. Tap any route for a full breakdown — benefits, tradeoffs, failure points, and estimated arrival.
Simulating a decision
Open Simulate, choose a scenario (a purchase, an income change, a new expense, a life event, or paying down debt), and enter an amount.
You'll instantly see the impact on your health score, cash flow, and Living with zero — before→after — with a “Show the math” toggle. Nothing is saved; simulate as much as you like.
Planning ahead
Open Plan to add upcoming “detours” — big or recurring expenses (insurance, holidays, a trip) — each with a countdown, so you can see them coming.
Plan also surfaces personalized “roadblocks” — risks we spot in your numbers, like a thin Living with zero or negative cash flow — so you can steer around them early.
Your Monthly Reality Report
Each month MoneyGPS gives you an honest check-in: your score and trend, your biggest win and biggest challenge, a cash-flow update, and a short insight.
Open it any time from Home, or tap “Email me this report” — we also send it to your inbox automatically once a month.
Franklin, your guide
Franklin is the center button in the bottom navigation. Tap it to open the chat and ask anything about your money — “how's my cash flow?”, “what's my biggest risk?” Franklin answers from your real numbers and explains the math.
Franklin gives information, never advice or a sales pitch. You're always the driver.
Free vs Premium — upgrading, managing, cancelling
Free is ad-supported. Premium is $12/month (or $120 a year): no ads, multiple goals, unlimited simulations, and more detailed insights.
To upgrade: Settings → Plan & billing → “Upgrade to Premium.” Checkout opens on Stripe's secure page. To manage or cancel: Settings → “Manage subscription,” which opens Stripe's billing portal. Cancel any time — access continues to the end of your paid period.
Managing your account
In Settings you can upload a profile photo, change your password (under the Change password dropdown), view a branded report of all your data, and — if you ever need to — permanently delete your account and everything in it.
