Financial Disclaimer

Last updated August 6, 2026

Please read this disclaimer carefully. It applies to everything MoneyGPS produces — every page, score, route, simulation, comparison, report, chat response, and notification.

1. Educational purpose only — not advice

MoneyGPS provides general educational information and self-help tools only. Nothing in the service is financial, investment, legal, tax, accounting, credit-repair, credit-counseling, debt-relief, insurance, or mortgage advice, or professional advice of any kind. Content is general in nature and is not tailored professional advice for your individual situation, even where it is generated from numbers you entered.

MoneyGPS is not a law firm and is not a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney.

2. No professional relationship

Using MoneyGPS does not create any fiduciary, advisory, attorney-client, accountant-client, broker, agency, or other professional or confidential relationship between you and MoneyGPS or its operators.

3. No recommendations — you make all decisions

MoneyGPS does not recommend, endorse, or steer you toward or away from any strategy, product, lender, servicer, creditor, law firm, settlement company, counseling agency, insurer, or other provider — and it never labels any route "best." MoneyGPS accepts no referral fees, commissions, or lead-generation compensation from anyone. Every decision, and responsibility for its outcome, is yours alone.

4. No eligibility or outcome determinations

MoneyGPS does not determine whether you qualify for anything, and it cannot grant, deny, or guarantee any outcome. Examples: income-driven repayment, PSLF, or any student-loan forgiveness (decided by your servicer and the U.S. Department of Education); IRS installment agreements, Offers in Compromise, or penalty relief (decided solely by the IRS); Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy (decided through a court process with a licensed attorney); hospital financial assistance or charity care (decided by each provider); balance-transfer, consolidation, or mortgage approval (decided by lenders); the statute-of-limitations status of any debt (a legal question for a licensed attorney in your state). Where MoneyGPS shows such paths, it is describing that they exist — nothing more.

5. Estimates, not guarantees — and only as good as your numbers

All scores, routes, projections, timelines, comparisons, and simulations are estimates built from the information you provide and from general assumptions. They are educational illustrations, not predictions, offers, or promises, and they may be inaccurate or incomplete. If the numbers you enter are wrong or out of date, the outputs will be too. Markets, rates, program rules, laws, and personal circumstances change, and actual results vary.

6. What MoneyGPS is not

MoneyGPS is not a credit repair organization within the meaning of the federal Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA) or any similar state law. It does not offer or provide credit-repair services, does not dispute, remove, or promise to remove or improve any item on any credit report, and never charges any fee for credit repair.

MoneyGPS is not a consumer reporting agency or credit bureau under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). It displays only the credit information you provide or authorize, and it never furnishes information to, reports to, or disputes information with any credit bureau.

MoneyGPS is not a debt-relief, debt-settlement, debt-management, debt-adjusting, debt-pooling, or credit-counseling service under federal law (including the FTC's Telemarketing Sales Rule) or any state debt-adjusting statute. It does not negotiate, settle, restructure, or adjust debt; does not contact or communicate with creditors, collectors, lenders, or servicers on your behalf; does not collect, hold, or transmit funds for payment to any creditor; and does not enroll you in any plan or program.

MoneyGPS is not a debt collector under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and does not collect, or attempt to collect, any debt from anyone.

MoneyGPS is not a mortgage lender, mortgage broker, loan originator, or loan arranger under the Truth in Lending Act, RESPA, the SAFE Act, or any similar law. It does not originate, arrange, offer, or broker loans or any other extension of credit, does not take or forward loan applications, and does not accept referral fees, commissions, lead-generation payments, or any other compensation in connection with any financial product — from anyone.

MoneyGPS is not an investment adviser, broker-dealer, or securities professional, and it is not registered with the SEC, FINRA, or any state securities regulator. It addresses personal cash-flow, savings, credit, and debt education only; it does not provide investment advice, manage assets, or recommend any security, investment, or investment strategy.

MoneyGPS is not a law firm, accounting firm, tax return preparer, or tax advisor. It does not provide legal, accounting, or tax services, does not prepare tax returns, and does not represent anyone before the IRS, any court, or any government agency.

MoneyGPS does not determine anyone's eligibility for — and cannot grant, deny, expedite, or guarantee the outcome of — any loan, credit product, repayment or forgiveness program, settlement, insurance product, government or charity program, or legal status or proceeding. Every such decision belongs exclusively to the relevant lender, servicer, creditor, agency, court, counselor, or provider.

MoneyGPS is not a bank, credit union, money transmitter, or other depository or money-services institution. It does not hold, store, move, or transmit your funds, and it does not open, service, or access any deposit, payment, or brokerage account on your behalf. Any bank connection you choose to authorize is read-only — used to display your own information back to you — and MoneyGPS never moves money.

7. Consult a licensed professional

Before acting on anything MoneyGPS shows you, consult the professional or authority appropriate to the decision: a licensed attorney in your state for legal questions (including bankruptcy, collections, lawsuits, and statutes of limitations); a CPA, Enrolled Agent, or tax attorney for tax questions (including tax on forgiven or settled debt reported on a Form 1099-C, and retirement-account consequences); your loan servicer or StudentAid.gov for federal student loans; your provider's billing or financial-assistance office for medical bills; the IRS (irs.gov) or your state tax agency for tax debt; and the CFPB (consumerfinance.gov) or your state attorney general for consumer-rights questions and complaints. Free or low-cost help may be available through legal aid organizations, nonprofit credit counseling agencies, and Low Income Taxpayer Clinics.

8. Laws vary by state and change over time

Laws, regulations, consumer protections, program rules, and their interpretations vary by state and jurisdiction and change over time. Information in MoneyGPS may not reflect the most current law or the rules that apply where you live, and it may not apply to your specific situation.

9. No warranty; limitation of liability

All information is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, merchantability, and fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MoneyGPS and its operators are not liable for any loss or damage arising from decisions you make in reliance on the service. The full warranty disclaimer and limitation of liability are in our Terms of Service.

10. Franklin is an AI assistant

Franklin is an automated artificial-intelligence assistant — not a person, and not a licensed professional. Its responses are generated by a third-party AI model from the information available to it and from general assumptions. Like all AI systems, it can be wrong: its answers may be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date, or fabricated, and it can state incorrect information in a confident tone.

Franklin provides general educational information only. Nothing it says is financial, investment, legal, tax, accounting, credit-repair, credit-counseling, debt-relief, insurance, or mortgage advice, and your use of it does not create any professional, advisory, or fiduciary relationship. Do not rely on any response as a substitute for advice from a qualified, licensed professional, and independently verify anything important before acting on it.

To generate a response, the messages you send and the relevant figures from your account are processed by our AI provider (Anthropic) under its terms; they are not used to train its models. Please do not enter information in the chat that you would not want processed for this purpose, and never share your password or another person's private information.

11. Optional bank connections and uploads

Optional bank connections and uploads. If you link an account through our banking partner Plaid, that connection is read-only and used only to display your own information back to you; you authorize it, you may disconnect it at any time, and it is subject to Plaid's own terms and privacy policy. If you upload a statement or document, you authorize us to process it (including through our AI provider) to extract the figures for your review, and you confirm you have the right to share it. These features are optional, you use them at your own risk, and you are responsible for reviewing and confirming the information they produce before it is saved.

12. You are always the driver

You are solely responsible for your financial decisions and their outcomes. Approval for — or eligibility for — any financial product or program does not mean it improves your situation. Verify important information independently, and consult a qualified, licensed professional before acting.
